Born In Flames
I was really excited to find this trove of French photographer Tony Frank’s photos online just now. He was Johnny Hallyday’s official photographer, shot the Histoire de Melody Nelson cover, and took lots of photos of Jane Birkin, Serge Gainsbourg and family throughout the years. He also took THAT PHOTO of Michel Polnareff (warning: it’s really not pretty). His early photos of Johnny Hallyday and Sylvie Vartan are really sweet, like a corny French version of Bruce Davidson’s Brooklyn Gang. I’ll post a few now.
